Original Inspiration

Can a dream succeed?
My teaching developed as a result of an acquaintance requesting a recommendation to a basic class. I referred her to a studio in Carnegie Hall. Afterward she reported her painful experience: The class was too fast, overcrowded, and the students too knowledgeable. This was intimidating and discouraging. Not a happy situation for a basic class.

I was about to suggest another studio when she suddenly said, why don't you teach me? She thought I would make a more suitable instructor for her initiation into the dance world. Startled at first by the idea, I agreed to think about it. I procrastinated, but she was persistent. Coping with a bad injury, my dancing career was iffy at that point. I had a BSED Degree in possession and an accessible studio; fate had taken a hand and she became my first and only student.

Pleased and happy with the class she spread the word, brought her roommate plus friends and Voila, ballet classes were born.

I needed a descriptive name for the classes so I created and originated:

BALLET BASICS "DESIGNED for the ADULT BEGINNER"
